Adventure Fitness combines structured pack hikes and fast-paced group walks for active dogs who need more exercise, enrichment, and outdoor stimulation than a traditional neighborhood walk can provide. Depending on the weather, trail conditions, and the needs of the group, outings may take place on Boise-area trails, in the foothills, at local parks, or along the Greenbelt.
Dogs are thoughtfully grouped according to temperament, size, pace, energy level, and social compatibility. Each adventure begins with secure pickup, calm introductions, a warm-up, and potty time before transitioning into the main activity.
During the outing, dogs enjoy sustained movement, varied terrain, purposeful sniffing, environmental exploration, and healthy pack socialization. We reinforce trail and leash manners, confidence, focus, and appropriate behavior around people, other dogs, bicycles, wildlife, and changing outdoor conditions.
The pace and route are carefully selected to provide a meaningful fitness challenge while keeping the group safe and comfortable. Water, rest, and recovery breaks are provided as needed, and each dog is closely monitored for signs of fatigue, stress, overheating, or discomfort.
Secure transportation is included with pickup and drop-off at your home. Because Adventure Fitness is a complete door-to-door experience, total care time includes transportation, group organization, warm-up, the scheduled activity, and safe returns—not just the time spent hiking or walking.
Every adventure is GPS tracked, and pet parents receive a detailed report with the route, distance, photos, potty updates, and highlights from their dog’s experience. This service is best suited for dogs who are comfortable traveling and participating safely in a structured group environment.
More than a pet visit—this is complete care for your animals and your home while you’re away.
Our In-Home Activity service is designed for dogs and cats who are happiest, safest, and most comfortable in their familiar environment. Every visit is personalized around your pets’ normal routine, energy level, personality, and care instructions. Whether they need a quick midday check-in, a meal, playtime, companionship, or extra support while you travel, we make sure they receive attentive, dependable care without disrupting the comfort of home.
For dogs, visits may include a backyard potty break, a short neighborhood outing when scheduled, indoor or outdoor play, basic enrichment, affection, and time to relax with their caregiver. We can reinforce familiar routines and provide one-on-one attention based on the dog’s age, mobility, energy level, and comfort.
For cats, care may include feeding, refreshing water, scooping and tidying litter boxes, treats, interactive play, brushing when requested, and quiet companionship. Shy cats are never forced to interact. We respect their space, monitor their wellbeing, and provide calm care at their preferred pace—even if that means patiently checking their favorite hiding places.
Meals are prepared and served according to your written instructions, including wet food, dry food, measured portions, supplements, or household-specific feeding routines. Water bowls are refreshed, pet areas are kept tidy, and visible accidents or food-related messes are cleaned whenever reasonably possible. Medication administration may be added when arranged in advance and when clear instructions are provided.
Your home receives attention, too. During each visit, we can complete basic home-care tasks such as:
• Bringing in mail, newspapers, deliveries, and packages
• Watering indoor or outdoor plants according to your instructions
• Moving garbage and recycling bins to or from the curb
• Rotating lights, adjusting blinds, and helping your home maintain an occupied appearance
• Checking doors, gates, windows, and accessible entry points
• Watching for leaks, unusual temperatures, power issues, damage, or other visible concerns
• Confirming that pet areas, yards, and enclosures are secure before departure
Every visit ends with a careful final check. We make sure food and water are set, litter or potty needs have been addressed, pets are comfortable, doors and gates are secured, and your home is left as instructed.
After the session, you’ll receive a detailed digital report with photos, feeding and water confirmation, potty or litter-box updates, behavior notes, completed household tasks, and any concerns that deserve your attention.
From energetic dogs waiting at the door to cautious cats observing from beneath the bed, every pet is treated with patience, respect, and genuine care. You can leave knowing someone is looking after the full picture—your pets, their routine, and the home they love.
Your pets deserve more than someone simply “checking in.” They deserve an overnight experience built around comfort, companionship, trust, and exceptional care.

Our Solo Walks are private, one-on-one service designed for reactive dogs, strong pullers, dogs with a bite history, or pets who require experienced, high-level handling and are not suited for group outings.
Each session is carefully planned around your dog's individual needs, known triggers, comfort level, and physical ability. We choose quieter routes and maintain appropriate distance from unfamiliar dogs, people, wildlife, bicycles, and other distractions whenever possible. The goal is to provide safe physical exercise, mental enrichment, and decompression without overwhelming your dog. The walk may include structured leash work, controlled sniffing, confidence-building exercises, potty breaks, and calm exposure to the surrounding environment. We reinforce safe walking habits, focus around distractions, and calm recovery after stressful moments. The pace, route, and level of activity are adjusted throughout the session based on your dog's behavior and body language. This is a specialized handling service—not a group walk—and your dog receives the handler's full attention for the entire session. A one-time assessment may be required before service begins so we can review triggers, equipment, handling instructions, and safety needs. After every walk, you'll receive a GPS-tracked report with the route, distance, photos when safely possible, potty updates, behavior notes, and a summary of how your dog handled the outing.

Our Structured Lower-Intensity Walks are designed for senior dogs, dogs with limited stamina, pups recovering from reduced activity, and dogs who prefer a calmer, sniff-focused experience over hiking or running. These outings provide meaningful exercise and enrichment at a comfortable, carefully managed pace.
Each walk combines steady movement with opportunities for sniffing, exploring, potty breaks, and positive socialization with a thoughtfully selected group. We practice good leash manners, calm group behavior, confidence, and appropriate responses around people, dogs, bicycles, wildlife, and other everyday distractions.
Routes are selected based on the weather, environment, group needs, and each dog’s physical ability. Water and rest breaks are provided as needed, and no dog is pushed beyond their comfort level. Secure transportation is included for qualifying group services.
Every outing is GPS tracked, and pet parents receive a detailed report with the route, distance, photos, potty updates, and highlights from their dog’s experience. Available in 30-, 60- 120 min. options.
Trail Runs & Athletic Conditioning is Zen Pet Care’s premium fitness service for active, athletic, and high-energy dogs who need a greater physical and mental challenge than a traditional walk. Personally guided by Chris, these outings combine structured running, outdoor exploration, conditioning, enrichment, and carefully managed pack socialization.
Each dog is placed in a thoughtfully selected group based on temperament, energy level, running ability, physical condition, pace, and social compatibility. The goal is to build a balanced group that can move safely and confidently together—not simply to place fast dogs in the same pack.
Every outing begins with secure pickup, calm introductions, a potty break, and a controlled warm-up. The warm-up gives each dog time to settle into the group, loosen their muscles, and prepare for more demanding activity. Running begins gradually before progressing into a sustainable pace based on the terrain, weather, and ability of the dogs.
Routes may include Boise-area trails, foothill paths, parks, or the Greenbelt. Natural surfaces, hills, elevation changes, and varied terrain can help challenge a dog’s balance, coordination, endurance, and body awareness. When weather or trail conditions are unsuitable, the workout may be adjusted to a safer route or structured running format.
These sessions focus on healthy cardiovascular exercise, stamina, muscular endurance, coordination, confidence, and appropriate pack behavior. Dogs also receive purposeful sniffing and environmental enrichment, helping satisfy both their physical drive and their need to explore.
Trail manners and group control are part of every outing. We practice focus, pacing, respectful passing, and appropriate responses around people, unfamiliar dogs, bicycles, wildlife, and other distractions. The dogs are closely supervised throughout the experience, and the pace is adjusted whenever the group’s safety or comfort requires it.
Water, rest, and recovery breaks are provided according to temperature, terrain, distance, and the needs of each dog. Participants are monitored for changes in gait, breathing, energy, body language, paw condition, overheating, stress, or fatigue. No dog is pushed beyond their safe working ability, and the route or intensity may be modified when conditions change.
After the run, dogs receive a cool-down period, water, and time to settle before being safely transported home. Secure pickup and drop-off are included, making this a complete door-to-door fitness experience rather than a simple timed run.
Every session is GPS tracked. Pet parents receive a detailed report featuring the route, distance, pace when available, photos, potty updates, and highlights from their dog’s performance and experience.
Trail Runs & Athletic Conditioning are available in 30- and 60-minute running options. Total door-to-door care time also includes transportation, group organization, warm-up, recovery, and safe returns home.
This service is best suited for healthy dogs who are comfortable traveling, participating in a structured group, and maintaining an active running pace. Dogs who are new to running, older, returning after inactivity, or managing a medical or orthopedic concern may need veterinary clearance or a gradual conditioning plan before participating.
